The first weekend of 2008

God...do you really do stuff like that.

Must be my middle class upbringing...cannot picture myself doing it....but my husband would probably do something like that...afterall you guys share same date of birth :-). And I keep wondering why he is more loved than I am ;-)

ixedoc files (3): its lonely out here at the top

Hey Doc....how are you? Been a while, life's keeping me busy...

Guess what...first thing i did when I got back to sulekha is read your blog...

So,how have you been...hows life and hope life's giving you the best you deserve.

Coming to this blog...Honesty is for the brave...Wonder how many times I did the 'wrong' thing because it was just convinient, no hassle( the registrar who had to accept our marriage application had to be greased pretty heavily to accept the 'multi-religious' marriage application,he got more expensive gifts than I did on my wedding day)

Snakes And Ladders

Your blog reminds me of an incident.

I was out of college and my mom wanted me to stay home and they would find me a suitable boy to get married to.But I wanted to go out into the big bad world, wanted to live my life on my own terms, after few days of fighting, persuasion,I did go to the city I wanted to.

After my parents dropped me and left,I felt so home sick that I wanted to run away and go home.I called my mom that night and started crying and said "I want to come home"...I could hear the sobs on the other side too..after a pause she said "You fought with me so bitterly to do this..dont give up, if you give this up you will never have it in you to do anything".

Mom's are a source of strength though we kids do not acknowledge it very often. We hate to see them cry when we go out to make our mark in this world.A smile gives us strength to overcome the fears and a tear makes us feel guilty.

The human touch....

Coming of age for a girl is a pretty complex thing, a girl is all confused wouldnt know how to react to any feeling.Display of innocent affection can send wrong signals.

But your reply to Maria says its fictitious so no sweat..

Sorry to hear about her husband, wishing Malar the strength and courage to carry on with her life.
